Alaska State Troopers are investigating a shooting that occurred in the Butte area in Palmer that took place early on Wednesday morning.
Troopers responded to the scene and one man was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The shooter was still on the scene when troopers arrived. During their investigation at the scene, they interviewed the shooter, who told them that a group of men came to his residence just prior to the incident. The men began to create a disturbance, they were asked to leave, at which time, they refused.
It was then that the man shot one of the men, he told troopers. After shooting the man, the rest of the party fled the scene.
Palmer ABI Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
No names have been released in the incident.
