Troopers made an arrest of escapee, 35-year-old Cody Ladig, at a residence on Goldhill Road in Fairbanks at 9:27 am on Wednesday.
Troopers have been seeking Ladig since he walked away from the North Star Facility on Thursday, October 16th. Ladig had been sentenced in a plea deal on September 15th. According to court records, Ladig pleaded guilty to Burglary I-Burglary in a Dwelling, a Class B Felony. In return, a second count of Burglary in a Dwelling was dismissed, as was a count each of Theft II, Theft III and Criminal Mischief by the prosecution.
Ladig was furloughed from the Correctional Center and placed in the North Star Center and was to remain there until June 28th, 2015.
Ladig was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant issued for escape II. He was remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Facility with his bail set at $30,000 and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.
Troopers have been requesting information of his whereabouts since the time of his escape.
