Alaska State Troopers say they are continuing an investigation into a vehicle/moose collision that occurred during the early morning hours of Tuesday.
Troopers responded to a report of a injured moose on the Sterling Highway at mile 113 this morning at 2:50 am. When they arrived, they found an injured moose that they immediately dispatched and released to a local charity.
The vehicle that had struck the moose had left the scene prior to the arrival of the troopers. A search for the vehicle was conducted and it was later found parked, and heavily damaged on Ichabod Drive in Kasilof.
But, the driver of the vehicle was not at that location, and despite a search, the driver could not be located.
The investigation into the incident is continuing.
