Alaska State Troopers began an investigation of a burglary shortly after it had been reported in the community of Allakaket on April 28th.
It was reported that an unknown person or persons had burglarized the city office in AllakaketThe investigation found that the burglars gained access to a safe containing several thousands of dollars in cash, money orders, and checks, which was subsequently stolen.
The State Trooper Dispatch reported today that the investigation had garnered results and that four individuals were arrested as a result of their investigation.

Arrested in the case were 19-year-old Caroline Gary, 20-year-old Thomas Vaughn, 25-year-old Trevor Williams and a 17-year-old female. All of those arrested are residents of Allakaket.
The investigation revealed that Gary, Vaughn, and the juvenile broke into the city office through a window and removed the safe from the office. It was later, after the safe was removed and taken to another location that Williams assisted the three with gaining access to the contents of the safe, at which time the cash, checks and money orders were removed.
Charges of Burglary II, Theft II, Criminal Mischief III, Criminal Mischief IV, and Tampering with Physical Evidence were leveled at Gary, Vaughn, and Williams. They were transported and remanded to the Fairbanks Correctional Center pending arraignment.
Charges have been referred to the Department of Juvenile Justice for the juvenile’s involvement in the case.
Allakaket, with its population of approximately 100 people is located on the south bank of the Kobuk River about 190 miles to the Northwest of Fairbanks.
