An out-of-town resident was called and informed by the village police officer and the village public safety officer of Unalakleet that lights could be seen in their home on Thursday morning at 3 am.
The person contacted requested that the VPO and VPSO go to their home and turn out the lights and remove anyone that was at the residence.

When the two officers entered the home, they found 28-year-old Unalakleet resident Peter Jackson in the rear of the home. Jackson was armed and intoxicated. The two officers left the home and contacted the Alaska State Troopers.
They later saw Jackson leave the home armed and walking around the village.

He was last seen later on Thursday morning, at 9 am, still armed.
Jackson did not fire any shots and had not threatened anyone during that time.
A warrant was issued for Jackson’s arrest charging him with two counts of third-degree assault,on a VPSO and VPO, burglary, criminal trespass, and fourth degree misconduct involving a weapon.
