Troopers Seek Info on Man Who Escaped Fairbanks Correctional Custody

Alaska State Troopers continue to search for Adam Bloom,  the man who fled a drop-off van that was taking him to the North Star Center from the Fairbanks Correctional Center on August 14th.

According to the Alaska State Troopers 27-year-old Bloom made good his escape while the van had stopped to drop off another subject on Dale Road at approximately 9:30 am. When he ran away from the van, it was reported that he was wearing a dark colored shirt and jeans.

Bloom was last seen this week on Wednesday in the area of Phillips Field, this time he was wearing a gray hoody and gray-colored pants.

It was only one day before his calender call and four days from his scheduled trial for Vehicle Theft I that Bloom disappeared. Bloom also has a case pending involving the theft of a Miranda Electric fiber optic  trailer containing a generator and other tools that occurred in the early morning hours of May 1st on Deere Street. In that crime, Bloom and his accomplice were caught on tape stealing the trailer. The value of the trailer and its contents was estimated at $40,000.

Bloom has an extensive criminal record of thefts, including the theft of a credit card and pin number from the Plack Road Baptist Church in early 2010. In that case, it was estimated that Bloom would use the credit card as many as 90 times in a two month period racking up a bill of $11,000. He was convicted of that theft in December of 2010, and in a plea deal reached in court, received 6 years with 2 and a half of those years suspended.

Troopers caution the public to not approach Bloom as he is considered dangerous. Troopers came to that determination as he had escaped and clearly does not want to be caught again. Instead, the public is asked to contact the Alaska State Troopers at 451-5100 if they see him or have knowledge of his whereabouts.
