Alaska State Troopers are investigating a fire at the Plack Road Baptist Church in North Pole that occurred at mid-day on Wednesday.
Troopers arrived at the scene at West Athena Drive “to find that the fire had burned itself out, and/or was otherwise extinguished.” Troopers reported no injuries in the unexplained fire, although there was “significant” damage. The dollar value of that damage is unknown at this time.
The investigation into the fire is continuing and Fairbanks-based troopers are asking assisntance from anyone that may have information on the blaze to contact them.
