It was Thursday afternoon that troopers, after observing an equipment violation on a vehicle that was also suspected of illegal drug activity, pulled the vehicle over at Wasilla-Fishhook Road and Seldon Road.
When troopers contacted the driver and asked him to identify himself, the driver provided false identification to the officers. Troopers would later identify the driver as Jeremy Joel Fish.
Then, moments later, Fish sped off from the traffic stop, fleeing the troopers.
Troopers gave chase.
Fish would lead the troopers on a 20 minute chase. During the chase, troopers say that Fish had nearly struck a trooper with his vehicle, nearly hit a marked patrol vehicle that was pursuing him, and with his reckless maneuvering, placed his passenger in fear of their life.
The vehicle chase would give way to a foot chase as Fish continued to evade the officers.
Fish would be ultimately apprehended after being tazed by a trooper.
Upon his arrest, Fish was charged with Assault IV, Eluding I, Reckless Driving and False Information. He was also charged with Probation Violation.
Fish was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded and held without bail.
