A Tununak fisherman, while fishing off of the coast of Tununak and Toksook Bay called in to report chest pains on Saturday on his vessel’s VHF.

A nearby boat responded to 57-year-old Martin Albert’s call and traveled to his vessel to find him unresponsive.

Albert was taken to the regional health clinic in Toksook Bay where he was pronounced deceased at 5 pm.

Troopers were informed of Albert’s death at 5:25 pm and next of kin were notified. 

Troopers say that no foul play is suspected in Albert’s death.
