At 3 pm on Wednesday afternoon, the Alaska State Troopers received a report of a 13-year-old Kiana girl, who was hysterical and reporting an assault at her home.
Troopers responded to the scene and began an interview with the girl. During the interview with the young girl, a man appeared and stated that he was the girl’s father. When asked to further identify himself, he refused. When asked to remove himself from the area where the interview was taking place, he refused again and turned to attack the officer.
During that same interview, a woman appeared as well and began yelling at the girl, telling her to not to talk to the investigating officer. When asked to identify herself, she refused as well. She would be identified as 50-year-old Kiana resident Daisy R Henry. D Henry was placed under arrest for Interfering with the Report of Domestic Violence.
The man, now identified as 59-year-old Kiana resident Benjamin E. Henry, was subdued. The investigation would find that B. Henry was the person who assaulted the girl.
B. Henry was charged with Assault IV x3, Harassment I x2, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Interfering with the Report of Domestic Violence, and Violating Conditions of Release.
Both Daisy and Benjamin Henry were transported to the Kotzebue Regional Jail where they were remanded.
