A shooting has occurred in the 2,000-student Arapahoe High School in Colorado, police report two people injured and say the suspect is now down.
Police in Centennial, Colorado say the school remains in lock-down status, but say the danger is over. The police also say that the suspected gunman is dead. The incident occurred at 12:30 pm Mountain time in the cafeteria of the school. Authorities say that they believe the gunman, armed with a shotgun, took his own life.
One of the students shot is in the Littleton Adventist Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head. The condition of the second student is unknown. It is reported the victims were 15 and 16 years old.
This newest school shooting comes just one day before the first anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting in Newtown, Connecticutt and just eight miles from the imfamous 1999 Columbine shootings where 12 people, plus the two gunmen died.
