A trooper investigation is ongoing in a single vehicle crash that took place on Sunday night that injured both occupants of the vehicle after it left the roadway.
According to the investigation at the scene last night, a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Kurt Jarmer, crashed as it was rounding a curve at mile 11.8 of Knik-Goose Bay Road late on Sunday. The vehicle entered the ditch and crashed into a raised driveway there causing the vehicle to roll several times.
When troopers arrived at 11:26pm, they found that two men were injured at the scene. Both the driver, Jarmer, and his passenger, 47-year-old Gary Brown suffered serious injuries. Jarmer was transported to an Anchorage hospital by EMS aircraft. Although Brown had initially declined treatment, troopers transported him to the Mat-Su Regional Hospital.
Troopers believe that alcohol played a factor in the accident.
The investigation into the crash is continuing.
