Alaska State Troopers were notified of an assault in progress along the side of Tait Road in Wasilla on Monday evening at 6:54 pm. Callers reported that two teenagers were being beat up by two men. The callers reported that the two men left the scene after assaulting the boys. Troopers were provided with a description of the vehicle.
An investigation into the incident was conducted by troopers. The investigation revealed that two men had stopped and beat up the two boys in retaliation for being flipped off.
Troopers would locate the vehicle a short distance away with the description provided and contact 24-year-old Jonathan Kaalakea and 20-year-old Jaime Kaalakea. It was determined by troopers that the two men were the ones that assaulted the two 14-year-old boys and charges were leveled.
Jonathan Kaalakea was charged with Assault III and Assault IV, he was arrested and remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer with his bail set at $3,000.
Jaime Kaalakea was issued a misdemeanor citation for Assault IV and released from the scene.
One of the 14-year-old boys was transported to the Mat-Su Regional Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.
