VPOs in the community of Mountain Village stopped a suicide attempt by a teen resident in that community on Sunday.

The officers related to the Alaska State Troopers that 19-year-old Zachary Queenie of Mountain Village had attempted to commit suicide with a rifle, and that he after, pointed the rifle at the responding Village Police Officers.

The officers managed to tackle the intoxicated teen and they placed him under arrest.

At 10:20 am, Alaska State Troopers based in St Marys travelled to Mountain Village to investigate the incident. Troopers charged Queenie with three counts of Assault III.

Queenie was transported to the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center where he was held for arraignment on the charges.
