It was at 1:36 pm that a 911 call was called in reporting a burglary that just took place on Quiet Circle in Wasilla. 911 contacted the Alaska State Troopers.
The caller reported that a male was observed entering an apartment after prying open a front window. He was seen exiting the building a short time later. It was reported that he had a black laptop computer in his possession when he left.
The burglary suspect was then seen getting into a gold color four door. The vehicle had its license plate obscured with black tape.
Within minutes, the vehicle was pulled over by Wasilla police and the suspect was held pending arrival of troopers.
Troopers identified the driver of the vehicle as 19-year-old Cody Carlson. The investigation found that Carlson had stolen a laptop and a bicycle.
Carlson was subsequently arrested and charged with Burglary I and Theft II and III. He was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded and his bail set at $5,000 and a Court Approved Third Party Custodian.
