Alaska State Troopers responded to a report of a disturbance on Day Road in Wasilla on Sunday afternoon.
The troopers arrived at the scene and talked with the complaintant, who informed the authorities that 26-year-old Matthew R. Jones had entered both the residence and a shed there intending to steal items from the structures.
The caller also reported that Jones had pointed a stolen firearm at them during the incident, causing fear of injury or death. Jones “fled the scene and concealed evidence of the crime” according to the trooper dispatch.
Jones was arrested, and charged with Robbery I, Assault III, Burglary I and II, Theft II and III, and Tampering with Evidence.
Jones was transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded and his bail set aty $80,000.
