The Criminal Suppression Unit of the Alaska State Troopers went to a residence on Lake Lucille Drive in Wasilla on Saturday afternoon attempting to locate a Wasilla man listed on a Felony arrest warrant.
Troopers arrived at the residence at 4:22 pm seeking 50-year-old Michael R. Metcalf, who had an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to appear on charges of Burglary I, Criminal Mischief III, and Theft III.
At the residdence, troopers spoke with 52-year-old Thomas W. Keller. Keller informed troopers that Metcalf was not at the residence. After telling troopers the suspect wasn’t present, Keller allowed troopers to search the residence.
After a thorough search of the home, Metcalf was found hiding in a crawlspace. He was promptly placed under arrest.
Keller was also placed under arrest during the investigation as it was deemed that he had helped to conceal Metcalf to assist him in avoiding prosecution, he was charged with Hindering Prosecution I.
Both men were transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and remanded there.
Metcalf’s bail was set at $5,000 and Keller’s bail was set at $1,500.
