On Friday afternoon, Alaska State Troopers responded to a a disturbance on Tidal Way in Wasilla after a caller reported a disturbance there involving assault and a vehicular incident.
When troopers arrived at the scene at 3:51 pm, their investigation found that 42-year-old Wasilla resident, Charles Slack, ha assaulted a family member there, as well as caused over $500 worth of damage to a family member’s vehicle, when he intentionally rammed it with his own.
Troopers determined that Slack was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
As troopers continued to investigate Slack, they found that he was also a sex offender and had failed to register as such.
Troopers also found in their investigation, that Slack had an extraditable warrant issued in his name for a charge of Possession of a Firearm in the state of Arkansas.
Slack was arrested on charges of DUI, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender II, Assault IV DV, Criminal Mischief III DV, and Fugitive from Justice.
Troopers transported Slack to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility where he was remanded without bail.
