A Wasilla man rolled his 1999 Ford Explorer after losing control of the vehicle at the curve of Sunset Avenue as it turns into Cormorant Drive in Wasilla early Sunday morning.
The report went in to Alaska State Troopers at 2:32 am on Sunday reporting the accident and an unconscious driver.
Palmer state troopers, South Central Bureau of Highway Patrol, and EMS responded to the scene. The driver, 52-year-old Francis Henry Barton, was still unconscious when authorities arrived. It was also determined that the driver also broke his arm.
Barton was transported to the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center by EMS for treatment of his injuries.
The investigation of the rollover was conducted by troopers. Their investigation found that as Barton was traveling on Suset Avenue, he failed to make the turn at a curve in the roadway, slid off the roadway and rolled the vehicle.
The accident totaled the vehicle. Alcohol and controlled substances are beleived to have been factors in the accident.
