Alaska State Troopers reported an officer-involved shooting in Houston after a shots-fired disturbance call late Sunday night.
Troopers responded to a disturbance call that they received at approximately 11:09 pm on Sunday night on Hawk Lane in Houston. The caller reported that they had let 38-year-old Patricia Kruger of Wasilla into the residence “at which time she grabbed the homeowner’s gun,” the trooper dispatch revealed. The homeowner fled the residence as Kruger fired the weapon.
When troopers arrived at the scene, they set up a perimeter around the residence and attempted to contact Kruger. They had no success.
Kruger fired off more rounds. Then, troopers report that “Kruger pointed the gun at a trooper, at which time he fired his weapon, striking Kruger.” Kruger was declared deceased at the scene.
Kruger’s remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy, and her next of kin were notified.
As per department policy, the name of the officer involved in the shooting will not be divulged for 72 hours.
The Alaska Bureau of Investigation has taken over case responsibility.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
