Weather Turns Helo 3 Back from SPOT SOS Signal

sosAccording to the trooper dispatch, troopers were notified of an SOS emanating from the Red Salmon Lake area on Monday at approximately 1:35 pm.

In response to the SPOT signal, Helo 3 was dispatched to the area, but, before reaching the signal area, inclement weather caused Helo 3 to return to base without reaching their destination.

According to troopers, when they contacted the reporting company, that company stated that only one signal was received by them. They informed troopers that they did not know if the SPOT SOS was turned off or the device’s battery died.

Troopers report that Helo 3 will make another attempt to reach the area where  the beacon was triggered if weather permits today.
