On February 14th, during court proceedings at the Kenai Courthouse an inmate from Wildwood Pretrial disrupted court.
Sean Mills, age 21, from Kenai, was being so disruptive, it was nedessary to remove him from the courtroom by a Court Service Officer.
While the officer was attempting to escort Mills from the courtroom, Mills began pushing against the officer and twice spun around and began moving towards the officer. The officer, concerned that he may be attacked and pushed down the stairway, took action as Mills spun and assumed an aggresive stance and moved towards him.
When the officer pepper-sprayed Mills, Mills ran past the officer and began battering one of the courtroom doors, causing damage.
Mills was subdued, removed from the courthouse and transported back to Wildwood Pretrial, where he had additional charges of Assaulting a Peace Officer in the Fourth Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.
Prior to the incident, Mills was in court after being charged on February 13th on charges of Criminal Trespass and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree. His previous bail was set at $500.
