It was announced on Friday, July 20, by the United States Attorney Karen L. Loeffler, that 43-year-old Darrell W Dawson of Juneau was arraigned before US magistrate Judge Leslie Longenbaugh.
Dawson was arraigned on an indictment for drug conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

According to the indictment, Dawson was involved in a conspiracy to distribute them to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine from January 2011 to July 7, 2012.
Although the actual sentence imposed will be based on the serious of the offense in prior criminal history of Dawson, the law provides for maximum sentence of 40 years in prison, and a fine of $4 billion or both.
Assistant US Atty. Jack S Schmidt presented the case to the grand jury.
The investigation in the case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of investigations, United States postal inspection service, Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Coast Guard investigative service, Alaska State troopers, and the Juneau Police Department Metro drug unit.
Dawson is in federal custody pending his trial. His court date is set for September 11, 2012.
