About 20 feet of guardrail was damaged after a commercial vehicle accident on the Parks Highway on Friday evening.

47-year-old James Chilton was operating a 2002 Freightliner Tractor hauling twin trailers when the rear trailer overturned and broke loose from his rig, according to trooper dispatch.

Troopers determined through their investigation that Chilton was traveling too fast on the curved road and subsequently his speed caused the trailer in the rear to lose control.

Fortunately there was no other traffic in the immediate area when the incident occurred so there were no other vehicles involved.

Troopers cited Chilton with Commercial Vehicle Basic Speed.
