Alaska State Troopers in Kodiak report that they have received multiple reports of burglaries, criminal trespass, and theft in the past week in Kodiak Island’s largest community.
The Kodiak Post said that they believe that “the reports are related, as locals are returning home to find their residences have been entered,” said the trooper dispatch. Troopers in Kodiak reported that “various item such as women’s underwear have been stolen or rifled through.”
During their investigations of these crimes, troopers in Kodiak found that other Kodiak citizens have encountered similar incidents in recent months, but have neglected to report the incidences to troopers or Kodiak Police.
Troopers are reminding citizens to not leave “their homes unsecured and to be vigilant of their surroundings, especially during the early or late morning hours.”
The investigation into the incidences is continuing and troopers are asking the public to report any further information regarding this or other cases to them at 486-4121.
