The trooper dispatch reported that a Village Police Officer in Ambler “responded to the report of a disturbance at a residence in the village” on Monday.
The VPO’s investigation at the scene determined that 32-year-old Frank Cleveland had assaulted a family member there “causing physical injuries.”
Alaska State Troopers and the VPO took Cleveland into custody for the assault. Court records would show that Cleveland had been convicted of Assault IV five times in the last ten years.
As a result of that revelation, Cleveland was charged with Felony Assault.
Troopers transported Cleveland to Kotzebue and remanded to the Kotzebue Regional Jail Facility to await arraignment on the charge of Assault III-DV.
