In an unfortunate accident in the community of Togiak, a man was crushed under a vehicle while working underneath on Wednesday.

Alaska State Troopers were notified of a death in the community of Togiak at 2 pm on Wednesday. A female caller reported to troopers that she had discovered 53-year-old Joshua Andrews trapped under his vehicle in their driveway. Andrews had been working on the truck when the vehicle fell from its supports and trapped  him underneath.

Togiak’s VPSO Wassillie responded to the scene. Andrews was pronounced deceased at the location. 

Andrews next of kin were already on the scene, and thus were already notified.

The State Medical Examiner’s office was notified of Andrew’s death and that office requested autopsy. Andrew’s remains were transported to Dillingham’s Kanakanak Hospital pending transport to Anchorage.
