Troopers are investigating the death of an Anchorage woman who died on the trail between Kobuk and Shungnak sometime between Saturday and Sunday.
Troopers initiated a search in coordination with the Northwest Arctic Borough Search and Rescue Volunteers for 31-year-old Rachel Snell of Anchorage after she was reported overdue at 4:41 pm on Sunday.
Snell had been reported overdue while traveling between the two Northwest Alaskan villages via snowmachine on the winter trail, she had left on her trek on Saturday evening.
Troopers reported on Tuesday, that Snell had been found deceased near her snowmachine midway between the two communities.
Trooper dispatch states that the incident is under investigation.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
