A Copper Center teen died in a single vehicle crash on Sunday morning while traveling on the Alaska Highway at mile 1295, troopers revealed.

According to the trooper dispatch, 19-year-old Carlton Pete was pronounced deceased after Alaska State Troopers and Tok Fire and Medical responded to the accident location.

The investigation that was initiated at 9:46 am, found that Pete’s 2006 GMC Sierra left the roadway and overturned. Further details of the crash were not revealed, and the investigation is continuing.
