WASILLA, Alaska-For the third time this year, a Wasilla man has been picked up on drunk driving charges. Alaska State troopers identify the man as Jack A. Collins, who just turned 21 on December 14th.

Collins was apprehended after the vehicle he was driving was pulled over for speeding shortly before 1 am on Saturday. After stopping, Collins ran away on foot in an attempt to elude prosecution. He was caught a short time later when troopers brought in police canine, Roelle, who tracked him down.

Collins, earlier this year, in May, plead guilty to DUI in connection with a February case. By November, Collins had been caught driving under the influence again. He was out on bail for that pending case when he was caught again on Saturday. His conditions of release in that case was no consuming of alcohol and no driving. He was appointed a third party custodian as a condition of his release as well.

There was one passenger in the car at the time of his third arrest. The passenger was his third party custodian, Tyler A. Doyle, age 23. Doyle initially said Collins was not driving the vehicle and even gave arresting officers a false name for Collins. Doyle was arrested as well at the scene. He was charged with hindering prosecution, making a false report as well as violating his custodial duties. Doyle posted bail and is free from jail.

Collins was charged once again with Drunk Driving, Driving with a Revoked License, and violation of his release conditions in the November case. His bail is set at $5,000.
