Alaska State Troopers in Togiak responded to a residence in that community after receiving a report of an assault with a firearm at 10:01 am on Friday morning, the trooper dispatch reported on Saturday.

Troopers went to the residence and opened an investigation into the report and found that 19-year-old Douglas W. Logusak had, during an incident, pointed a loaded shotgun at a family member in the house.

All the residents in the house managed to flee the residence before any injuries were incurred.

Troopers and the community’s VPSO were able to get Logusak to surrender his firearm and exit the building. He was taken into custody and taken to the Togiak Jail where he was charged with Assault III-DV.

He was held without bail for arraignment.
