Wasilla Vehicle Owner Leads Troopers to His Stolen Suburban

On last Monday, troopers were alerted to a stolen Suburban and a Honda TRX 450 ATV that was stolen from a Cotton Drive residence in Wasilla at 12:10 pm. The Suburban was reported to have no plates at the time it was taken.

On Sunday night, the vehicle owner contacted troopers once again and this time reported that he had spotted his stolen Suburban. Troopers responded to the man’s location and made contact with the man driving the purloined vehicle

Troopers arrested 26-year-old Joshua Makenzie Libis of Wasilla who was driving the vehicle. He was charged with Vehicle Theft I and Driving While License Revoked. He was transported to Palmer where he was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with no bail pending arraignment.

The Suburban suffered no damage during its time away from the owner.

Troopers did not reveal information on the stolen ATV.
