At about a quarter past three in the morning on Saturday, a report went in to the Alaska State Troopers from the Central Peninsula Hospital stating that a 16-year-old had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
The juvenile, who’s name has not been released, was being treated at the hospital in Soldotna for a gunshot from a .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol. The gunshot was inflicted at the Tustumena campground earlier Saturday morning.

It was found during the investigation of the gunshot by the Alaska State Troopers that the injury took place during a party at the campground while the juvenile was under the influence of alcohol. It was further revealed that after the incident took place, all the other partiers at the campground fled the scene.
The juvenile, after being treated for his injuries at the hospital, was questioned and released to his parents.
Juvenile Intake was contacted regarding the incident, and subsequent to that contact, the juvenile was arrested on charges of Misconduct Involving a Weapon IV and transported to the Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility and issued a summons to appear in court on charges of being a Minor Consuming Alcohol as well.
The investigation into the shooting continues.
