A Grand Jury indictment was handed down by a Bethel Grand Jury related to the deaths of three individuals that died in a house fire in Nunam Iqua on June 28th .
Indicted was 19-year-old Derek Adams of Nunam Iqua. He was indicted on six counts of Murder in the Second Degree, one count of Arson I, and ten counts of Assault III, most of which were related to the ten other individuals that escaped the house through a rear window after the blaze was set.

Troopers report that Adams is currently incarcerated at the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center on felony petition to revoke his probation.
His bail was set on these new charges at $500,000.
Killed in the fire that was started near the home’s entrance were 8-year-old Cyprian Ignatius, 43-year-old Joseph Ignatius, and 25-year-old Edward Murphy.
There were fourteen people in the home at the time of the fire.
The blaze was extinguished using first buckets, then garden hoses. But, the house was largely consumed in the flames before the fire was successfully extinguished. The bodies were not discovered until the fire was put out.
The fire was set in the early morning hours of June 28th and State Troopers were informed of the conflagration at approximately 6:20 am. Troopers and a Deputy Fire Marshal would stay in the community for several days investigating the fire.
