Anchorage man, 20-year-old Dustin Arthur Badillo, is behind bars and charged with Kidnapping x3, Robbery I and Sexual Assault I&II, and Burglary in a Dwelling according to court records.
Police began looking for Badillo after he allegedly entered a home in West Anchorage at around 8 am through the garage, as a woman and her two children were leaving, and sexually assaulted the woman before forcing her and her two children into their minivan. Once in the minivan, Badillo ordered the woman to drive to various ATM machines to draw out money from her bank account police say.
After three hours, Badillo dropped off the woman and children on the Boniface Parkway and proceeded to the Mountain View area. The van was recovered from that area on Wednesday night.
But, Badillo’s criminal activities did not stop there. On Thursday afternoon, upon returning to his West 15th Avenue home, a man found a man armed with a gun inside his house. His burglary thwarted, Badillo fled the house with the homeowner in pursuit. Unable to catch Badillo, the homeowner called in the burglary.
A short time later, a suspicious male was reported about a mile away behind the North Star Elementary School. Seeing the police approaching Badillo fled the scene. He was tracked to the area of West 27th and Arctic. There, at approximately 4:30 pm, muddied and disheveled from his run from the law, Badillo was taken into custody.
Police found the firearm they say Badillo had in his possession and other items in the area of the last pursuit.
Badillo has had a few brushes with the law. In 2014, Badillo was found guilty of burglary II, and Escape II, with numerous other offenses dismissed.
Badillo is due to be arraigned on Friday afternoon.
