The State Medical Examiner's Office in Anchorage has requested the remains of 70-year-old Kiana resident Dolly Smith for autopsy.

Smith was discovered deceased at her home in the village of Kiana on Friday. At about 9:30 pm on Friday, the Alaska State Trtoopers were notified of her death and troopers as well as the Alaska Bureau of Investigation was dispatched to the village to investigate the scene.
Troopers have deemed the death of Smith as suspicious but details on why they came to that determination is unknown. Troopers are saying that further investigation was called for because of the circumstances surrounding her death and the location she was discovered. Smith’s death has not been labeled as a homicide and the authorities are awaiting the outcome of the autopsy which may be available as soon as today.
