For the second time in two days, Alaska Walmart stores have been the target of bomb threats say police.

The most recent threat was phoned in to the Kodiak Walmart moments after the Kodiak store opened on Wednesday. The call that came in this morning at just after 7 am, cleared the store of approximately 30 employees and a half a dozen shoppers. Employees and shoppers were allowed back in approximately an hour later.

The Eagle River Walmart received a similar threat on Tuesday morning Anchorage Police report. That call came in to the 24-hour store at approximately 6:20 am. The store was closed for about 40 minutes and re-opened at 7 am after finding that the bomb threat that announced that two bombs had been secreted in the restrooms of the store proved false. It was reported by an employee of the Eagle River store that the caller may have been a young male.

Kodiak police are releasing little information on the bomb threat on the island because of it being an on-going investigation.

No information has been released as to whether the twin bombs threats are connected.
