The Alutiiq Museum seeks community volunteers to serve on its Public Programs Advisory Committee. This committee reviews select outreach projects–both present and planned, evaluates museums resources, and provides creative ideas for preserving and sharing Alutiiq heritage.

The committee meets quarterly for about 90 minutes per meeting, and works under the guidance of the museum’s Exhibits Coordinator. Committee members are asked to review a small number of items in advance of each meeting and to bring their thoughts to share.

This committee is open to all community members age 16 and older, of all heritages and interests. If you would enjoy contributing to the design and evaluation of the Alutiiq Museum’s educational activities, this is an excellent service opportunity. You will receive a packet of background materials and an orientation to the museum’s work. No previous experience is necessary.

The Alutiiq Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history and culture of the Alutiiq, an Alaska Native tribal people.
