Alaska State Troopers are asking the public for information on the whereabouts of a Soldotna man after a $5,000 warrant for his arrest was requested and issued for a highway incident on last Friday for Failure to Stop at the Direction of a Peace Officer I, Reckless Driving, and DWLR.
On April 15th, Anchor Point-based troopers attempted a traffic stop on a Honda motorcycle at mile 155 of the Sterling Highway at 9:3 pm. Instead of stopping, the rider sped away from the troopers, reaching speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour as it passed other vehicles on the highway through no-passing zones.
After four miles, troopers report that they terminated pursuit citing safety concerns. Troopers would continue up the highway to mile 144 of the Sterling, where they located the motorcycle, but discovered the driver had fled on foot.
Troopers confirmed the identity of the driver the next day as 29-year-old Soldotna resident, Zachariah “Bluu” Nemeyer. They discovered that Nemeyer had been frequenting Anchor Point in recent weeks.
Troopers found that Nemeyer had a revoked driver’s license out of Hawaii and had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV, as well as No Valid License and Driving With License Revoked.
Troopers ask that anyone with information regarding Nemeyer’s location to contact their local law enforcement.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
