Anchorage Man in Ditch Arrested on Vehicle Theft/Parole Violation

vehicle theftTroopers responded to the scene of a vehicle in the ditch near mile 83.5 after they were notified early Saturday morning, they subsequently arrested an Anchorage man on charges of Vehicle Theft I, False Information, Driving While License Revoked and an outstanding warrant the trooper dispatch revealed.

Troopers responded to the scene at 7:20 am and contacted the driver, who was later identified as 28-year-old Rupert Jones of Anchorage. During the contact, Jones repeatedly used the identity of another individual in order to conceal his true  identity. Once troopers ascertained Jones’s true identity, they found that he had an outstanding parole violation warrant for his arrest. It was further found that his license was revoked. 

Further investigation would find that the vehicle he was driving had been stolen in Homer.

Jones was arrested on the charges and warrant and was transported to Anchorage where he was remanded to the Anchorage Jail where he was held without bail on the warrant and his bail was set at $3,150 on the other charges.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
