Anchorage police report that they have made an arrest in the assault of a female jogger that occurred in late July following their investigation.
Officers with the Anchorage Police Department’s Special ZVictims Unit arrested a 16-year-old teen on charges of Attempted Sexual Assault I, II, III, and Assault IV, in connection with the incident on July 27th on the bike path south of the Bragaw and Northern Lights intersection.
The identification and arrest of the teen was made possible by patrol officers alerting detectives “to a person matching the suspect description, seen in the same area, days after the initial report,” APD said. DNA left behind also played a part, they continued.
Police say “Due to the suspect’s age, arraignment will be handled through the Juvenile Justice System.”[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
