a Soldotna ATV driver was arrested on Friday night after being struck by another vehicle on Kalifornsky Beach Road near Kenai at 10:42 PM.
A 911 call came into the Alaska State Trooper dispatch late Friday evening reporting that a 2001 PT cruiser had struck an ATV that was driving on the side of the road.

Troopers responded to the scene and their investigation revealed that 22-year-old Sterling resident Austin Struthers,while traveling northbound in the PT Cruiser, had hit an oncoming ATV. The collision ejected the ATV driver from his vehicle.
According to the Alaska State Trooper dispatchThe investigation found that Struthers had become distracted and drove off the roadway traveling at about 45 MPH causing him to strike the TV. immediately after the collision the PT cruiser drove off in group on where it became disabled.
Further investigation at the scene found that the driver of the ATV, 27-year-old Soldotna resident Justin Millage, was under the influence of alcohol. he was promptly arrested and transported to Wildwood pretrial where he was remanded and held without bail. Bail was not set due to a prior DUI.
Struthers was released from the scene, although charges of Assault III and Reckless Driving will be forward against him to the District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation into the incident is continuing.
