USDA-RD’s Community Programs Provide Nearly $2 Million in Rural Grant Funding

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Nov. 20, 2013 – U.S. Department of Agriculture-Rural Development (USDA-RD) Alaska State Director Jim Nordlund today announced nearly $2 million in Community Program Grant Funding will be made available for some of Alaska’s most remote, rural areas for a variety of projects.

In an effort to give consumers more choices when purchasing health insurance, U.S. Senator Mark Begich yesterday introduced legislation calling for the creation of “copper plans” within the Affordable Care Act.
