Fighting in Syria Intensifies as Leaders of Baath Party, Opposition Changes

For the tenth straight day shells rained down on the key Syrian city of Homs as the Syrian army continued its push to take control of the city. Tanks, heavy artillery and mortars pummeled key districts in an attempt to cut the northern rebel fighters off from their counterparts in the south.

U.S. Senator Mark Begich today commented on U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack’s memorandum specifying direction for the transition in the Tongass National Forest to timber harvest consisting solely of young growth trees.

Pilot of Asiana Flight 214 had Only 43 Hours Training Time on 777, First Landing in San Francisco

The pilot of South Korea's Asiana Air Flight 214 that crashed as it was attempting to land at the San Francisco International Airport on Saturday had only 43 hours training in the Boeing 777 and was attempting to land that category of aircraft for the first time according to the airlines.

Rediske Air Taxi Crashes after Take-off in Soldotna Claiming the Lives of all 10 on Board

The owner/pilot of Rediske Air and all nine of his passengers died in a fiery crash at the Soldotna airport at 11:20 am on Sunday morning.
