The Alaska State Troopers report that a Palmer Grand Jury handed down indictments on Benjamin E. Wilson for Murder I, Murder II, Manslaughter, Kidnapping, Assault III and two counts of Coercion in the death of Leticia Faller and the kidnapping of her boyfriend, Torin Ford of Palmer on Thursday.
It was 9:49 pm on Sunday night of this week that a 911 call went in to the troopers reporting a shooting, the call came in from a location on Marth Road in Palmer. It was determined by troopers that the call came in from Wilson.
When troopers arrived on the scene near the intersection of the Old Glenn Highway and Bodenburg Loop in Butte, they found that Faller had sustained a gunshot to her head. When found, she was laying in a vacant lot with her vehicle nearby. Faller was transported by air to the Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, where she succumbed to her injuries and was declared deceased.
Troopers also saw Wilson’s red Dodge Dakota pickup leaving the scene when they arrived, but he would return after troopers contacted him. Wilson would query troopers, “Why did I shoot her?”
The investigation would reveal that Faller and Wilson had an on again off again sexual relationship according to troopers. Both Wilson and Ford had been at Faller’s house earlier that evening before meeting up in vehicles near the Green Store.
According to reports, it was then that Faller got into Wilson’s truck and Ford got out. within moments, Faller was critically injured. Wilson told troopers that Faller pulled a knife on him. According to troopers, Ford ran from the scene after Faller was shot, he reported that Wilson had turned the gun on him before Wilson himself left the scene.
Wilson was arrested the following day at approximately 11 am. He was initially charged with First Degree and Second Degree Murder and Assault III. Further charges were handed down by a Grand Jury for the kidnapping of Ford.
Wilson is being held at the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with his bail set at $250,000. Arraignment on the new charges is set for November 17th.
