Big Lake Remains Turned over to State Medical Examiner for Identification

Alaska State Troopers report that the human remains found at a remote portion of Big Lake and reported to AST are far too deteriorated by the elements to ascertain identity.

A caller reported the remains to troopers at 8 pm on Wednesday night and troopers responded to the scene. The remains were collected up and turned over to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage.

Troopers say they will continue to investigate the incident and await SME findings.
