A bizarre video surfaced that is reported to have come out of North Korea. The video shows the virtual destruction of what could be New York City viewed to the background soundtrack music of "We are the World," the 1985 charity single.
The three-minute video, uploaded by Youtube user, Uriminzokkiri, over the weekend, has been viewed over 61,000 times by the time of this article this morning. Uriminzokkiri is one of the distributors of propaganda for the eastern Asian nation.
In the video a sleeping man dreams of a missile, similar to the one recently launched, rising from a pad in North Korea, traveling above the atmosphere and re-entering over the United States as multiple warheads deploy and rain down on a metropolitan area. The U.S. flag draped city shows buildings burning as weapons rain down on the landscape. This portion of the video wasn’t produced by North Korean special effects teams however, it is a poorly reproduced scene from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, by Activision. Much of the other footage appears through the imagined lens of a camera.
The video also shows what can only be surmised to be a North Korean space shuttle circling the globe. This image of their imagined shuttle is seen multiple times throughout the short production.
As the short video ends, the written dialogue on the page says that the young man’s dream will “surely come true.” The beginning and the end of the video are very similar, showing a sleeping man with a Canon camera on the nightstand.
The video was released as the Eastern Asian country is preparing for another nuclear test and a month and a half after the thinly veiled missile test that placed a satellite into orbit. That satellite failed to operate correctly however, and continues to tumble through space around the earth.
Activision later today had the YouTube video taken down from YouTube because of Copyright issues. The link above is at LiveLeaks.
