State Leaders Respond to Possible Rural Postal Closures

The United States Postal Service, this week released a list of 3,653 post offices that could be closed, and some of their services handed off to local businesses, while other services would be relegated to on-line applications. Of those 3,653 post offices on the list, 36 of them were located in remote villages in Alaska.

Native Leader, Caleb Pungowiyi Passes Away

SAVOONGA-Native leader and former president of the Inuit Circumpolar Conference, Caleb Pungowiyi passed away yesterday, July 25th, from cancer at the age of 69. He chaired the ICC from 1992 until 1995.

Oslo Death Toll Rises Dramatically

OSLO-As the investigation continues, the death toll in the Norwegian city of Oslo has risen much higher. Reports are now coming in of at least 80 killed in the summer camp shooting and seven dead in the explosion that rocked the city center.
