Multiple law enforcement agencies are actively searching the suspect said to have fatally stabbed a nine-year-old girl during home invasion in Northern California.
The incident occurred around noon on Saturday, when the suspect, who was described as a white or Hispanic male, about 6 feet tall, with a muscular build and longer gray hair, entered the home in Calaveras County, and during the course of the home invasion stabbed a young girl who later died from her injuries at a hospital.

It is reported that the young girl’s 12-year-old brother witnessed the invasion and called his parents who were away from the home at the time. The boy’s parents then contacted 911.
After notifying his parents of the intruder, the boy checked on his sister and found she had been stabbed multiple times. A neighbor also saw the unidentified man fleeing the neighborhood. The suspect was additionally described as wearing a black long-sleeved shirt and blue pants.
Residents in the area were called via reverse 911 and advised to lock their doors and to report any suspicious activity. Police began a door-to-door search for the suspect on Saturday in the community of about 3,500 people. That search continues today.
Calaveras County Sheriff’s Capt. Jim Macedo, stated on Saturday night, “we’re doing a house to house search in some cases searching addicts and Stiller’s. It’s a difficult. Search. It’s rural, it’s remote.”
