Murkowski Announces New DC Press Secretary

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senator Lisa Murkowski on Wednesday announced she is promoting Taylor Thompson of Anchorage (West High School) to the position of Press Secretary in her Capitol Hill office. Thompson will fill the vacancy created by her predecessor Matthew Shuckerow (Dimond High School) departing to serve as Congressman Don Young’s Press Secretary.

Judge Shoots Down New Texas Abortion Legislation

Stating that the new abortion restrictions passed by the Texas legislature violated the rights of abortion doctors to do what they think is best for their patients, and restricts women's access to clinics, District Court Judge Lee Yeakel determined that the new law that was to take effect on Tuesday were unconstitutional.
